2014 was a big year for me in many ways. The highlights of the year having been getting married in the summer to my longtime partner in crime – both musically and personally – Sander Gommans (a.k.a. The Riff King ) and in the fall, we got some pretty fantastic news, as well. As many of you have heard, Sander and I are expecting our first child this coming summer 2015. I can’t believe I’m already halfway through my pregnancy! Talk about timing though; I was already obviously pregnant for both Kiske Somerville videos and the photo shoot. Gaaah! Trying to look relatively normal still to try and keep the focus on the music was a bit of a challenge. But I think it all turned out pretty well.
The most important thing in all of this is that our little one is healthy and all is going well, thank goodness. Let me tell you, though: it’s quite the head trip being an active musician in many different departments, living bi-continentally in 3 different countries and trying to figure out how I’m going to make it all work with a family. But, I know if I set my mind to it, plus together with the help of our amazing family and friends, we can make it work. Still, it’s all very exciting! And don’t worry: I won’t stop making music.
